An elderly man rushes into the forest, where logging is going on. He takes a broken tree-trunk home and uses it to sculpt a flautist, which he carries to the forest. The eponymous forest demon, a satyr, emerges from the bushes and takes the sculpture away. We later see him playing the flute in the company of a girl. The film ends with the elderly man descending into a lake.
