Focussed on domestic activities such as cooking, tidying up, leisure time, the film portrays the daily life of a married couple living in a derelict tenement house in an impoverished area of Mikołów. The title refers to Alfred Liebfeld’s book “Rockefellerowie: Łupieżcy czy filantropi?” [The Rockefellers: Looters or Philanthropists?], popular at that time, which one of the film’s protagonists is reading in the final scene.
